Service Scheduler

The Service Scheduler will coordinate and schedule technical staff for the installation and support of multiple product lines to a diverse customer base.  They will be responsible for prioritizing all installation and service activities while providing regular and effective communication to both staff and customers. A service scheduler must have both excellent verbal and written communication skills. Also have strong computer and MS Office skills. Will be responsible for answering incoming calls on a multi line phone system. Will assist with shipping and receiving duties in a small warehouse environment.

Systems Engineer - Level 1

Systems Engineer Level 1 is an entry level position requiring less than one year of experience to start. This person will exhibit general knowledge of workstation operation (hardware & software) is a good communicator and can manage well when the client presents an issue and needs guidance. This person should be prompt and understand the importance of communicating with the clients. Most importantly, this person should be eager to learn while following prescribed directions, procedures, and leadership directives. Finally, they need to perform the job responsibilities within a Team culture guided by a Team Leader.

Department: Service and Support    Reports to Service Manager

General Summary:

Systems Engineer Level 1 is an entry-level position requiring less than one year of experience to start. This person will exhibit general knowledge of workstation operation (hardware & software) is a good communicator and can manage well when the client presents an issue and needs guidance. This person should be prompt and understand the importance of communicating with the clients. Most importantly, this person should be eager to learn while following prescribed directions, procedures, and leadership directives. Finally, they need to perform the job responsibilities within a Team culture guided by a Team Leader.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Provide Level 1 Help Desk support
    • Answer Help Desk phone & email
    • Remediate user-generated level 1 Help Desk tickets
    • Remediate system-generated level 1 Alert ticket
  • Check client data backup logs and remediate basic problems
  • Complete daily time entry as required by company policy
  • Complete 20 hours of continuing education on IT topics as prescribed by Management.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

Experience:

  • Experience installing and configuring Windows client operating systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications

 

Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of the OSI model, general networking principles (physical & wireless)
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Windows client operating systems
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows server operating systems
  • Basic knowledge of the OSI model, simple VLAN, Routing, and Switching principles

 

Abilities:

  • Takes direction from Level 2/3 Systems Engineers and Managers
  • Takes ownership of tasks and follows through to ensure complete resolution
  • Personal interest in, and responsibility for, the quality of work they perform or associated with

 

Education & Credentials: 

  • Two-year Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • New hire, recent school graduate, no industry or vendor-specific certifications

Systems Engineer - Level 2

Systems Engineer Level 2 is a primary support position requiring two or more years of experience to start.  This person will exhibit advanced knowledge of workstation operation (hardware & software), and intermediate knowledge of server operation, switching, and routing. This position requires good verbal and written communication skills and can manage proficiently when the client presents an important issue with moderate impact, requiring guidance and remediation. This person should be prompt and understand the importance of communicating with the clients. The pace and demands in this position are greater and demand prioritizing skills and communicating expectations to clients.  This person should be skillful at pre-project/work briefings with clients and able to execute with a good degree of success in integrating and/or solving problems in environments of intermediate complexity. Most importantly, this person should be eager to learn while following prescribed directions, procedures, and leadership directives. Finally, they need to perform the job responsibilities within a Team culture guided by a Team Leader.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Provide Level 2 Help Desk support
    • Answer Help Desk phone & email escalated from Level 1 or Team Lead
    • Remediate user-generated level 2 Help Desk tickets
    • Remediate system-generated level 2 Alert tickets
  • Design, deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Intermediate client IT infrastructure including; Cloud, Virtualization, Switching, Routing/Firewall, Servers, Applications, etc.
  • Remediate data backup intermediate problems escalated from Level 1 or Team Lead
  • Mentor Level 1 System Engineers
  • Complete daily time entry as required by company policy
  • Maintain a minimum of one approved certification at the latest version
  • Complete 30 hours of continuing education on IT topics as prescribed by Management.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

Experience:

  • Experience installing and configuring Windows client operating systems
  • Experience installing and configuring Windows server operating systems, features, and roles
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications including Office 365
  • Experience with Firewalls, Switches, Wireless, Virtualization, Shared Storage

 

Knowledge:

  • Intermediate understanding of the OSI model and networking principles (physical & wireless)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows client operating systems
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows server operating systems
  • Intermediate knowledge of the OSI model, VLAN, Routing, and Switching principles

 

Abilities:

  • Takes direction from Level 3 System Engineers, Supervisors, and Managers
  • Takes ownership of tasks and follows through to ensure complete resolution
  • Personal interest in, and responsibility for, the quality of work they perform or associated with

Education & Credentials: 

  • Two-year Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of one current, neutral 3rd party, or vendor-specific certification
  • Current technical certifications preferred

 

Pay: Base + Bonuses DOE
